Sec. Em Chan Makara Looking for Development Partners to Help Children with Disabilities

Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation and Secretary-General of the Disability Action Council (DAC), Em Chan Makara, distributed 20 wheelchairs donated by the people of Japan to the disabled at the National Center for Infants and Children on August 16.

Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Rehabilitation and Secretary-General of the Disability Action Council, Em Chan Makara, met with a Chinese delegation representing the China Disabled Person’s Federation (CDPF) to discuss the provision of assistive devices for persons with disabilities in Cambodia.

Sec. Em Chan Makara Encourages Youth with Disabilities to Compete Internationally

The Secretary General of the Disability Action Council organized an online IT competition for young persons with disabilities on July 25 and 26. Four lucky winners will be sent to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to compete in a live IT competition from October 24-29, 2023. Five other competitors will be able to participate in the competition online.

A Meeting To Discuss On The Development Of Electronic Disability Services Directory

February 11, 2016, Secretariat General of Disability Action Council had a consultative meeting with development partners. A main topic to talk at the meeting was about “Online Disability Services Directory for Cambodia”.

The Directory was jointed initiated by Secretariat General of Disability Action Council and Australian Red Cross (ARC) since 2014.

In 2015, the Secretariat General in cooperate- with Handicap International (HI), UNICEF, and GIZ, to to ease the Internet users who look for online information. It is a piece of work to continuously provide quick enough information on time to customers for the services of Persons with Disabilities in Cambodia.

The online services directory for the sector of disability shows the easiness in finding services relate to persons with disabilities including consultative institution for disability affairs, Physical Rehabilitation Centres, Rehabilitation Service Producers, Organizations work for Persons with Disabilities, type of services, operational sites, kind of disability, and many other information associate to the disability.

Secretariat General of Disability Action Council plans to launch for an officially use very soon for this online service directory for Persons with Disabilities.
