A Dissemination Event for Strengthening Ability for the Disability Action Working Group (DA/WG) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery
His Excellency Em Chan Makara, Secretary General of Disability Action Council, stated in the event of strengthening ability for the Disability Action Working Group (DA/WG) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery. His Excellency Em Chan Makara requested to the DA/WG to consider on inclusive disability for the priority work in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery. Below, there are five prioritized propositions for People with Disabilities Inclusion:
First, encourage People with Disabilities to involve into agricultural development,
Second, increase the intervention to ensure food security for People with Disabilities,
Third, keep continue on training for People with Disability for veterinary,
Fourth, increase benefits of fishery for People with Disabilities,
Fifth, increase number of People with Disabilities to work in the forestry sector.
This statement was stated during the quarterly meeting of 2016. The meeting was presided by His Excellency Man Sokry, Undersecretary of State and the Chief of DA/WG of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery, and participated by a range of Directors, Chief Units, Officers, and staff.
His Excellency Em Chan Makara also demonstrated that, through National Disability Strategic Plan 2014-2018 of the Royal Government of Cambodia and under the leading of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Ministry of Cambodia and the Honor President of Disability Action Council always pays high attention to People with Disabilities. By offering credit with free or low interest rate and grant for businesses and tax reduction on business of People with Disabilities, they can establish self-employment such as work on agriculture, micro, small, and medium businesses in the form of individual of common business.
His Excellency continued, in order successfully achieve the goals of National Disability Strategic Plan, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery needs to have its action plan and prioritize and encourage to take any actions that support for enhancing development for the benefit of People with Disabilities.
His Excellency Secretary General also showed, for DA/WG of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery being effectiveness and measurement, that is a need for monitor and evaluation the action plan. Thus, it will be able to reduce the discrimination against People with Disabilities promote the Rights of People with Disabilities.
