The drafted Declaration of Inter-ministerial about the arrangement of physical infrastructure in creating favorable condition for people with disabilities will soon be taken into review and make it official. Additionally based on this Declaration of Inter-ministerial, The government of Cambodia will enforce this regulatory of making accessibilities for people with disabilities in a joint action between Ministry of Social Affairs Veteran and Youth Rehabilitation and Ministry of Land Management.

Phnom Penh Hotel, His Excellency, Em Chan Makara, Secretary General of Disability Action Council stated during the consultative workshop on the “reviewing the first draft of the Initial on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” that, Cambodia has accomplished a lot outcome in the disability sector after rectifying on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). The achievements are including an increase rate on People with Disabilities to work in the Ministries and Institutions, community based rehabilitation for supporting and raise livelihood of poor people with disabilities, physical rehabilitation, vocational training and self-employment. Especially services for people with deft and blind, they are also improved: brail, sign language are created and integrated into education programs, technology, and TV channels, for, it is serve information for people with disabilities.

His Excellency Em Chan Makara, Secretary General Disability Action Council, shown high mindedness and thank to the Royal Government of Cambodia favors to staff of Royal Government who are disable can start to work late and leave office early than their administrative time. According to sub-decree of the Royal Government No 56 RNRK.BK, dated on April 1, 2016 about working time of public civil servants of the Royal Government and the contract staff, allow staff with disabilities to take maximum 1 hour for their personality; for, they can come late to work or leave their job earlier. This shows an additional carrying and encouragement of the Royal Government to Persons with Disabilities who have duties for the Royal Government of Cambodia.

His Excellency Em Chan Makara, Secretary General Disability Action Council proudly stated that Royal Government of Cambodia is the first country of all states members of UNSCAP agreed in implementation the decade of disability in Asia Pacific, 2013-2022 Incheon Strategy “Make the Rights Real”. On 29th of May 2013, by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Honor President of Disability Action Council officially adopted Incheon Strategy.
